Job Details
Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Cook to oversee kitchen operations and deliver high-quality dining experiences at our Yacht Club Tavern. The Lead Cook will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, managing food preparation, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish served.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily kitchen operations and coordinate prep and line cooking staff.

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and portion control guidelines.

  • Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering and receiving supplies.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, including equipment, storage, and prep areas.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.

  • Collaborate with the ownership to create and refine seasonal menus and daily specials.

  • Train and mentor kitchen staff; provide feedback and support a positive team culture.

  • Manage kitchen flow during peak service hours and ensure timely and accurate plating.

  • Assist with cost control by minimizing waste and ensuring efficient use of ingredients.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of professional kitchen experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in a waterfront, private club, or tavern-style dining setting.

  • Familiarity with seafood preparation and seasonal, upscale casual cuisine.

Compensation Details
