POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead Host/Hostess plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant's front-of-house activities. Responsibilities include managing the reservation book, updating reservation notes, compiling a list of VIP guests and private event details for the chef, and leading pre-shift meetings. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional hospitality.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):
- Manage the reservation book, including plotting reservations, updating notes, and maintaining accurate records.
- Answer the phone line courteously and ensure the host stand is never left unattended
- Compile a list of VIP guests and private event details for the chef, ensuring special attention and personalized service.
- Lead pre-shift meetings to review reservations, discuss special requests, and coordinate with the service team.
- Greet and seat guests in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring their satisfaction throughout their dining experience.
- Assist with managing waitlists and optimizing table turnover.
- Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and other staff members to ensure seamless service operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the host/hostess station and lobby area.
- Provide support and assistance to guests as needed, including answering questions and addressing concerns.
- Uphold high standards of professionalism and hospitality at all times.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Previous experience in a host/hostess role required, with experience in using Resy Software and a supervisory capacity preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in reservation management systems and basic computer skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Genuine warmth and hospitality.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry items such as menus and seating charts.
- Manual dexterity for handling paperwork and operating electronic devices.
- Stamina to handle the demands of a busy restaurant environment.
COMPENSATION: The base pay range for this position is minimum wage to $18/hour, plus tips. Actual pay may vary based on factors such as experience and performance.

Compensation: Hourly ($16.00 - $18.00) plus tips
