Be the first to lead something new! Nice Matin, an established French Bistro for over two decades, is introducing a captain role to our Front of House team. An exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to shape this position from the ground up alongside the General Manager. Your Responsibilities:

• Follows and leads the team on steps of service consistently, delivering with urgency and efficiency throughout service.
• Demonstrates knowledge of food and beverage menus, fluency in ingredients and preparations, able to make recommendations to guests, and answer questions.
• Maintains communication with the door team to maximize walk-in covers, and ensure that FOH and BOH staff are informed of VIPs, allergies, celebrations, etc. noted in reservations 
• Monitor and manage the flow of the dining room, adjusting seating assignments, and managing service timing.
• Maintains the high standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the restaurant both before, during and after service.
• Active in service and providing on-going support for servers, bussers, and runners. 
• Act as the primary point of contact between guests and the kitchen, ensuring that orders are executed correctly and in a timely manner.
• Greet guests with warmth and professionalism, assist in seating arrangements, and make them feel welcome throughout their dining experience.
• Resolve any guest complaints or concerns promptly, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
• Open and close the restaurant

Requirement:

• Captain experience in a fine-dining or upscale restaurant is a must, with at least 2-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• English fluency and additional languages preferred, but not required
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to balance & carry multiple plates, glass racks and or/glasses, and lift objects up to 30 lbs.

• Strong knowledge of food, beverage, and hospitality standards.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with a passion for wine, service excellence, and a dedication to improving both individual and team performance.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
