Job Summary: As a Restaurant Server at Chicago Waffles, you are essential in providing an outstanding dining experience for our guests. Your role involves taking orders, ensuring efficient food delivery, and upholding excellent service standards. The ideal candidate should be quick, attentive to details, and focused on delivering customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Interaction:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival.
- Assist with menu selections, providing detailed information on food and beverage items.
- Take precise food and beverage orders.
- Order Processing:Accurately input orders into the POS system.
Collaborate with the kitchen and food runner for timely order preparation and delivery.
- Menu Knowledge:Develop an in-depth understanding of the menu and daily specials.
Offer recommendations and address inquiries regarding ingredients and preparation.
- Service Excellence:Promptly deliver food and beverages, focusing on presentation and quality.
Proactively manage guest requests and concerns.
- Table Maintenance:Efficiently clear and reset tables, maintaining a clean dining environment.
Ensure tables are properly set and stocked.
- Upselling and Promotion:Suggest menu enhancements to improve the guest experience.
Inform guests of special offers and promotions.
- Team Collaboration:Work closely with kitchen staff, bar staff, and other servers for smooth service.
Contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
- Knowledgeable about breakfast menu items and hospitality industry practices.
- Punctual and reliable.
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a server in a restaurant setting.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Basset certification.
- Previous restaurant experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of enduring various physical movements throughout the work areas.
- Stand and/or walk continuously during the shift.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Essential Job Functions:
- Adherence to all Chicago Waffles policies and service procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all menus and restaurant details.
- Perform all opening and closing duties as necessary.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization in assigned service areas.
Secondary Job Functions:
- Assist other restaurant staff as required.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and menu tastings.
