At Passerine, we are excited to bring a high-level Indian dining experience to NYC. We opened November 1st, and are dedicated to delivering exceptional food and service, inspired by the Michelin-starred vision of our talented Chef Chetan, who earned accolades in DC last year. Our goal is to create a memorable dining experience that reflects the rich flavors and traditions of Indian cuisine while aiming for a Michelin star in our new home.
Position Overview
We are seeking a warm and welcoming part time host to join our dynamic team. We are looking for someone with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability. As a host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. You will work closely with our Maître'd, to ensure a smooth and efficient front-of-house operation. Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations efficiently.
- Provide information about the menu and restaurant, enhancing guests' understanding of our Indian-inspired cuisine.
- Assist in seating guests, ensuring a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
- Collaborate with the service team to ensure smooth transitions and timely table turnover.
- Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and special requests with professionalism and care.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area.
- Uphold the restaurant's high standards of service and contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a host or in a similar role in a fine dining or upscale restaurant is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and composed.
- A passion for hospitality and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours and lift at least 25 pounds.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $22.00) plus tips
