You'll manage our reservation system to optimize the flow of service and the guest experience, paying close attention to individual preferences and special requests. You'll have the opportunity to engage with regular guests, tracking their preferences and celebrating their loyalty, while proactively reaching out to lapsed patrons to re-establish connections. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring every guest feels valued, while keeping our reservation system and service running smoothly and efficiently.

Desired Qualifications:
- 2+ years of prior experience as a Maître d' in a reputable, well-rated, service-driven restaurant
- Thorough knowledge of OpenTable or Resy software
- A great personality and ability to work with grace under pressure
- An innate desire to create a memorable experience for all our guests
- The ability to manage guest seating seamlessly while working collaboratively with the host team
- The ability to work full-time and shifts Fridays through Sundays

About Chef JP:
A Montreal native, Chef JP discovered his love for cooking early, preparing meals for his family while his mother worked and studied. He honed his skills at Quebec's Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management before launching his career in Montreal's top bistros. In 2012, he competed on Les Chefs! and later became Executive Chef for the General Delegate of Quebec in Paris.
A recipient of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux Chefs Scholarship, Chef JP trained at Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide, eventually rising to Sous Chef at Blue Hill Stone Barns. He later joined Eleven Madison Park and led Wolfgang Puck's CUT as Executive Chef. Now, Chef JP brings his passion for seasonal produce and refined yet rustic cuisine to Upland’s California-inspired menu.
