Next Door at Astor Place is a true culinary adventure located at the Wegmans store in the East Village. Led by chef Oliver Lange and our exceptional team, you will help deliver delicious contemporary Japanese cuisine which draws inspiration from around the world.
The art deco inspired space, in a nod to the historic origin of the building, will be both welcoming and comfortable. Guests will enjoy a wonderfully immersive and entertaining experience from any seat in the house and personalized, next-level hospitality. We'll be opening our doors in Spring 2025! Our mission is to provide incredible service and a one-of-a-kind dining experience for our guests. As a Line Cook, you’ll assist in creating menu items and ensuring guests are presented with a meal they can’t receive elsewhere. As you continue to learn, grow, and fuel your passion for food, you’ll find the possibilities at Wegmans are endless.
What will I do?
- Ensure incredible service is provided by effectively handling a variety of tasks
- Preparing ingredients to be used by the culinary team as well as creating high quality meals
- Follow proper recipes, knife skills and cooking techniques to provide consistent ingredients and finished products
- Balance prep work while ensuring guests meals are prepared in a timely manner while maintaining high standards
- Comply with applicable State Restaurant Health Codes and Regulations
Required Qualifications
- 1 or more years’ experience working as a line cook
- Knife skills
- Enthusiasm for and knowledge of relevant ingredients and cuisine
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts
- Experience working on multiple kitchen stations
- Experience working a variety of positions in the restaurant or hospitality industry

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $21.00)
