King in Soho is looking to hire a full-time AGM to join our growing team. King is inspired by the south of France and the North of Italy, and our chefs write a menu every single morning. We look to thoughtful farmers for both our wines and our produce, and serve the best of each season.

The AGM will work with the General Manager to ensure service standards are met, and will guide the restaurant in refining and maintaining systems for inventory, ordering, staff scheduling, event planning, and maintenance.
Along with the rest of the management team, our AGM will be responsible for establishing a workplace culture that is warm, professional, and energetic, and guided by a shared respect for our work and for one another.
Qualifications:
- Should have top industry experience and the ability to meet and raise our high standards of service.
- 3+ years of operational restaurant or hotel management experience (front of house)
- Excellent work ethic and dedication to hospitality
- Has an influential philosophy, leadership style, and floor management presence based on mutual respect and clear communication
- Cultivating and continuously improving guest rapport with new guests as well as our returning guests.
- The ability to maintain a calm demeanor under pressure while understanding the principles of the restaurant
-Exceptional communication skills.
-A high degree of organizational focus and an interest in building out efficient systems.
- Possesses a great attention to detail, and maintains a clean, safe, organized work environment
-Extensive food and beverage knowledge and a commitment to learning more.

-NYC DOH Food Protection Certification and an ability to establish and enforce best practices for maintaining the highest standards of health and hygiene for the restaurant.
-Proficiency in Google Workspace suite, MS Word, and Excel.
- Deep familiarity with reservation/point of sale/scheduling systems; Toast, Resy, 7Shifts
- Certification by NYCDOH and T.I.P.S.
- Good knowledge of French and Italian food and wines is required
- Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work days, nights and weekends
The Assistant General Manager’s responsibilities will include:
- Leading the front-of-house team before, during, and after service to ensure that we are meeting high standards of service.
- Modeling inspired hospitality for front-of-house staff by being a dynamic presence on the floor.
- Developing and refining systems for staff training and education, as well as offering ongoing feedback, and creating pathways for professional development.
- Active involvement in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training new staff.
- Helping to oversee inventory, ordering and scheduling for front-of-house operations.
- Administering and refining SOP’s for daily restaurant operations, including: POS upkeep, ordering, internal and external email communication, budgeting, and storage.
- Contributing to employee training materials, and participating in the ongoing process of training, coaching, and developing our hourly staff.
- Opening duties, including but not limited to: leading pre-shift meetings, liaising with the kitchen to stay informed on menu changes and service notes, adjusting staffing according to cover counts and spread of reservations, ensuring service staff and dining room are prepared for service.
- Active participation during service, including directing the flow of service, providing direction and delegating responsibilities, running food and beverages, and communicating with the kitchen and door teams. Overseeing service and attending to technical or facilities issues as they arise. Taking steps to course correct any negative guest experiences.
- Closing duties, including: recording staff tips and hours, reconciling cash, writing service recap, checking service team closing duties and performing a final walkthrough of the restaurant.
- Recognizing and cultivating relationships with current and future regulars (Friends of Jupiter).
- Helping to develop systems and resources such as opening and closing checklists, supply pars, etc. that will contribute to the overall efficiency and organization of the restaurant.
- Creating a positive work environment and strong bridge between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
Compensation and Benefits:Salary ($80,000.00 - $85,000.00)
