We are looking for a talented, ambitious line cook to join the kitchen team at Bar Siesta! Bar Siesta is a small (~ 45 seats) tapas and wine bar in Silver Lake with a menu of creative, rustic-yet-refined, Spanish-inspired cooking.
Qualities essential to the line cook position include: a high degree of organization; clear and strong communication; comfort working a station in a fast-paced service; enthusiasm for a small, tight team; and an optimistic, can-do attitude.
We source exceptional products from local producers, as well as from Spain; as such, an obsession with quality, a deep respect for ingredients, and an interest in European cooking and philosophy are requisites.
2+ years of prior experience on the line is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Bar Siesta’s Chef and Sous to ensure all food preparation and execution is done consistently and efficiently, upholding standards and policies.
- Demonstrate excellent line work ethic, knife skills, cleanliness, and a professional attitude.
- Follow direction, work with focus and efficiency, and take full responsibility and ownership for your tasks and station.
- Exhibit stellar organizational habits pertaining to all areas of the kitchen and storage.
- Assist in ordering, receiving, storage, sanitation and consistent execution of food at the highest possible level of quality.
- Operate at the highest standards of sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness of kitchen areas, and compliance with operational standards.
- Be a key team member, helping foster a respectful and nurturing workplace environment.
- Do everything within your ability to help Bar Siesta thrive
Physical Requirements:
- This is a role that requires physical stamina – carrying up to 50lbs (such as produce boxes); organizing prep, service and storage areas; going up and down stairs; and maintaining an energized presence in the kitchen during multiple hours of service.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $22.00) plus tips
