Summary of Position:
The Server at A16 plays a key role in delivering outstanding dining experiences to our guests. Responsible for providing attentive, knowledgeable service, the Server is essential in promoting the restaurant’s Southern Italian menu, wine offerings, and overall casual fine dining experience. The ideal candidate will be a team player, possess excellent communication skills, and have a passion for exceptional service and building relationships with the community.
Responsibilities:
Guest Service
- Greet guests promptly and courteously, providing an inviting atmosphere from the moment they arrive.
- Accurately take and deliver food and beverage orders, ensuring guests’ needs are met.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of the menu, wine list, and special programming to make informed recommendations.
- Connections will be enhanced through product and service knowledge as well as guest recognition, encouraging a community-driven environment.
Table Management
- Manage assigned tables efficiently, ensuring timely service and guest satisfaction throughout their meal.
- Anticipate guest needs, addressing any concerns with urgency and professionalism.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints effectively, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Teamwork in service, supporting colleagues’ tables when needed.
Support Operations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure accuracy of orders and timely deliveries.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining area. Follow all checklists to ensure standards and set-up needs are achieved.
- Participate in daily line-up meetings to discuss menu highlights, specials, and service standards.
Sales and Experience Enhancement
- Understand the interests of the guest by highlighting wine, beverages, desserts, and other menu items that may enhance the guest experience.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently, adhering to company policies on cash handling.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with fellow team members and leadership to create a cohesive team environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and development initiatives, strengthening service skills and menu knowledge.
Health and Safety Standards:
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling, sanitation practices, and safety protocols.
- Maintain personal hygiene and a professional appearance at all times.
Competencies:
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of Italian cuisine and wine is preferred.
Work Hours:
Requires availability for nights, weekends, and off-site events during peak seasons.
Please be aware of the Company Request For Time Off Black Out Period: No RTO will be granted from Thanksgiving Week until the week following New Year's.
Physical Demands:
Position involves standing, walking, and occasional lifting within a restaurant setting.
Experience:
Previous experience as a server in a fine dining restaurant setting is preferred; familiarity with POS systems is a plus. A current Food Handlers Certification is required.
