Located in the historic 50-story landmark, Printemps will have five distinct food and beverage concepts ranging from a casual cafe to a fine dining brasserie. Food and beverage is helmed by Top Chef Alumnus and 3-time James Beard Award Winner, Chef Gregory Gourdet.

Position Overview:
We are seeking dynamic and experienced wine associates to join the opening team of our wine shop within Printemps. These individuals will be responsible for curating an exceptional shopping experience, providing warm and hospitality-focused customer interactions, and maintaining the high standards of customer service that align with the Printemps brand. The ideal candidate will be passionate about wine, possess a deep knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and pairings–with a strong emphasis on French wines and liquors, and have proven experience in retail or hospitality. The Wine Retail Associate will report directly to the Printemps Wine Retail Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Store Operations:
- Participate in the daily operations of the wine shop, ensuring that it runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Ensure that all sales areas are clean and maintained, including stock replenishment, label facing, and general upkeep.
- Open and/or close the shop as scheduled by the Wine Retail Manager. These responsibilities may include cash handling, facilities management, and other tasks as directed.
- Marketing & Events:
- Assist with in-store events such as tastings, masterclasses, and private wine dinners.
- Participate in regular staff tastings and seminars as led by the Wine Retail Manager.
- Sales & Customer Experience:
- Drive sales by delivering exceptional customer service, both in person and through virtual channels.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers, offering personalized recommendations, tastings, and pairing suggestions.
- Cultivate relationships with regular clients and foster a community of wine enthusiasts.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in wine sales, preferably in a retail or high-end hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of wines, including tasting techniques, varietals, and wine regions.
- Certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) or similar credential preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for customer service.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and handle competing priorities.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet the demands of the retail environment.
