Overview:
Reporting to the Pastry Chef, and Pastry Sous Chef, the pastry cooks are responsible for daily production and the execution of events. The Pastry Cooks are responsible for completing the jobs on the prep list to produce the pastries and baked items for our events. As part of our pastry team, pastry cooks collaborate and coordinate with the other team members to ensure that production is done in a timely manner and in accordance with standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare desserts, pastries, and other baked goods according to company recipes
- Decorate pastries in a consistent style
- Follow plating and display standards
- Maintain inventory of prepped ingredients
- Ensure that product is stored, prepared, packed, and served according to specifications and standards
- Communicate with Chefs regarding production and timelines
- Keep kitchen area and tools clean
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and knowledge in catering operations
- Fundamental pastry skills including food preparation, flavor pairings and other best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Time management and organization
- 4+ years of pastry cook experience
- High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
