The Host position here at Cómodo Bistro Latino plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for our guests. As the first point of contact for patrons entering the restaurant, the Host will ensure excellent customer service, manage reservations, seat guests efficiently, and provide support to the restaurant team to deliver a seamless dining experience. The Host should have a warm, friendly, and approachable demeanor, with a passion for hospitality. While not required, we are seeking someone with knowledge of Latin cuisine and culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greeting and Seating Guests:

  • Welcome guests with a warm and friendly demeanor.

  • Escort guests to their tables in a timely manner, ensuring an organized flow of seating.

• Reservation Management:

  • Manage reservations, ensuring accurate booking and table assignments.

  • Handle walk-ins and efficiently manage waitlists, ensuring guests are informed of wait times.

• Customer Service:

  • Provide guests with menus and assist with any inquiries about the menu or restaurant features.

  • Address any special requests, dietary restrictions, or preferences.

• Communication:

  • Maintain clear communication with the kitchen, servers, and management to ensure efficient seating arrangements and guest satisfaction.

  • Announce available tables, special promotions, or events to guests.

• Maintaining a Clean & Organized Lobby:

  • Ensure the front entrance and waiting area are clean, organized, and welcoming.

  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the host stand and surrounding area.

• Multitasking & Problem Solving:

  • Handle guest concerns or issues professionally, providing solutions to enhance the guest experience.

  • Adapt to any changes in guest flow or restaurant needs throughout the shift.

• Knowledge of the Restaurant and Latin Cuisine:

  • Have a basic understanding of the restaurant’s menu, daily specials, and the unique aspects of Latin cuisine.

  • Be knowledgeable on our food and drink options, and when necessary, assist guests with wine or cocktail recommendations.
