Major Food Group is hiring an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Sadelle's!
Sadelle’s is a modern ode to New York’s classic tradition of all-day dining. Since opening its first location in the heart of SoHo in 2016, the brand has reached iconic status thanks to its urbane, celebratory atmosphere and a menu of hits, including the best bagels in America. Among its many accolades, Sadelle’s was named an essential brunch destination by Harper’s BAZAAR and Cosmopolitan, and its sticky buns were ranked one of the Best Dishes of 2015 by The New York Times. Sadelle’s currently has outposts in New York, Las Vegas, Miami, Paris, Boca Raton, and Dallas.
Our ideal candidates who will assist in carrying our culture, standards of service, and quality of food. While comparable experience is preferable, any individual with passion and love for people, food, and wine will certainly be welcomed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sourcing, ordering and receiving the highest quality ingredients
- Developing, teaching, and maintaining all recipes and techniques
- Executing menu items from start to finish
- Organizing a large team and holding each chef accountable for their responsibilities
- Overseeing and maintaining a smooth professional service
- Maintaining all kitchen equipment and following up for any repairs needed
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization
- Overseeing scheduling and inventory to work within a set budget
REQUIREMENT:
- 3+ years progressive experience in BOH operations, fine dining or Michelin Rated restaurant experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge of and competency performing BOH administrative duties, excellent organization skills and attention to details
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivated and demonstrates the ability to make quick and sound decisions
- Proven ability in training and mentoring staff to continuously develop their skills and knowledge while providing leadership and direction

COMPENSATION: $68,000 - 72,000 annual salary

Sadelle's is a New York bakery and restaurant from Major Food Group located in the heart of SoHo. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For breakfast and lunch, Sadelle's features quintessential appetizing selections like sliced-to-order salmon and sturgeon, chopped salads, and other New York classics. Every night, Sadelle's transforms from a bakery into a fantastical brasserie that is illuminated solely by candlelight. Sadelle's dinner menu emphasizes fish preparations, along with other classic dishes and freshly baked bread. The restaurant also specializes in traditional Russian caviar and vodka service.
The bakery highlights one of New York's greatest food traditions—the bagel. Our hand-rolled bagels, pastries and breads are made fresh on-site throughout the day in a glass-enclosed bakery, located in the center of the dining room. Sadelle's bagel and bakery program is the creation of master baker and co-owner Melissa Weller.
