Sous Chef – Bold Mexican Cuisine
Elevated Mexican concept with a focus on is seeking a Sous Chef for their eastside location. With a concentration on utilizing fresh, high-quality ingredients and much of the menu coming off a wood-fired grill, this chef should have a passion for Mexican cuisine, live-fire cookery, and delivering on bold, exciting flavors. Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Support the Executive Chef
- Ensure all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
- Administrative duties to include: ordering, receiving, quality control, and inventory of all kitchen items
- Lead and mentor a strong culinary team, including hands on in the kitchen and on the line
- Create and foster a positive, work environment via effective, professional communication with other employees and managers
- Ensure best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
Sous Chef Preferred Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a similar position (Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, Kitchen Supervisor, Junior Sous)
- Excitement for delivering fresh, seasonal, high-quality food to the guest
- Any experience in wood-fired cooking, elevated Mexican cuisine and techniques
- Spanish language knowledge preferred
- Excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to genuinely motivate others
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
