Job Details

Joo Ok is a contemporary Korean fine dining restaurant, which received 1 Michelin star in 2024. Led by Chef Shin Chang Ho, highly decorated and recognized for his commitment to hansik [Korean Cuisine]. Joo Ok is relocating from Seoul, Korea to NYC’s Koreatown, opening this spring.

Position summary:
Host is responsible for greeting guests and rearranging, confirming reservations. Maintaining clear communications with guests and the team

Qualifications:

At least 1+ years experience in a reputable, well-regarded restaurant
Strong communication skills
Team-oriented and positive attitude
Must be able to stand, lift and bend for extended periods of time
Must be able to remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Host Responsibilities:

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Maintain professional demeanor
Maintain dining ambiance with an enthusiatic and graceful attitude
Attend daily pre-shift meetings
Assist guest with their reservations
Confirming allergens, and/or any celebrations
Navigating guests to our dining room or the bar
Clear communications with FOH and BOH
