We are looking for an experienced server/lead server at Cornerstone's Famed Chef's Counter and restaurant! Our award-winning wine list is expertly curated, with food and wine pairings designed to make your job as a server seamless and effortless. This is a key member of the hospitality team, responsible for ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all of our guests. This is a key and integral role which requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Pay rate is $8 per hour with hourly tip share (please note that a full time employee is expected to make on average $100k+) along with an extensive benefit package after probationary period.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Guest Experience: Greet guests promptly and courteously. Engage with guests to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Ensure proper steps of service. Take and serve drink orders, providing recommendations and answering questions about the menu.
- Cash Handling: Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions using TOAST POS. Open and close tabs, process payments, and manage receipts. Maintain an accurate cash drawer and balance it at the end of each shift.
- Compliance: Adhere to all state and local alcohol service regulations including RAMP Certification. Check identification to verify legal drinking age using our BARSTATS ID app. Monitor guest behavior to prevent overconsumption and ensure a safe environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members, including servers, barbacks, and kitchen staff, to provide seamless service.
- Problem Solving: Address any issues or complaints promptly and professionally first with the GM and then the guest. Handle difficult situations with tact along with the GM’s assistance and maintain a positive demeanor.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous serving experience preferred in a high end restaurant or cocktail program. The most successful team members have a background working in high end restaurants/resorts, have a deep understanding of hospitality at its core, and working efficiently in fast paced environments.
- Skills: Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails is preferred.
- Attributes: Friendly, outgoing, approachable, and a team player. Dependable, with a strong work ethic and a passion for creating a positive guest experience.
- Environment: Fast-paced, requiring flexibility and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. May require working evenings and weekends based on event schedules.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry heavy items, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks associated with event setup and breakdown.
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($8.00) plus tips

Christine & Nicholas Kondra, owner & chefs + husband & wife team returned home after spending 10 years in Boston & Nantucket to open Cornerstone in the Fall of 2015. Christine working as a private chef & restaurant owned by the famed chef partners Jamie Bissonnette & Ken Oringer. Nick working his way up on the Nantucket & Boston restaurant scene, working at the famed Straight Wharf Restaurant (Nantucket) & Ten Tables in Harvard Square. Upon returning in Jan '14, Nick became the pasta chef at Amis under the well respected Brad Spence & Marc Vetri.
