Turks Head Wines is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sous Chef to join our unique wine-forward culinary program. Our establishment prides itself on being different by design, providing an elevated dining experience centered around exceptional wine and food pairings. As the Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality culinary offerings that enhance our extensive California wine selection.
We seek a creative and motivated Sous Chef to support our Executive Chef in delivering an exceptional dining experience. This role requires a blend of culinary expertise, leadership, and an eagerness to curate an educational environment in the kitchen. You will assist in creating menus that highlight seasonal, local ingredients and complement our wine portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Development: Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design a menu focusing on seasonality and locality that complement our wines.
- Kitchen Management: Oversee daily operations, including prep, cooking, and plating, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Staff Supervision: Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient environment.
- Inventory & Sourcing: Manage procurement, focusing on local, sustainable ingredients. Maintain cost-effective inventory control.
- Safety & Compliance: Uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards according to ServSafe.
Qualifications:
- Culinary Degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years as a sous chef or senior line cook role, preferably in an upscale/fine dining setting
- Proven leadership, communication, and environment
- Familiarity with food safety regulations. ServSafe Food Handler certification is desired. Will need to be completed at some point during employment
- Physical stamina for kitchen demands (standing and lifting)
- Passion for hospitality, food, and wine

About Us:
Turks Head Wines is a California based winery where we source, produce and bottle all of our Bordeaux style wines in the north coast region of CA before transporting them across the country. Our Tasting Room & Wine Lounge is located in West Chester PA, where we deliver unforgettable experiences to our guests. As a winery, our culinary program is wine forward, meaning that our menu had been designed to complement our wines and take our guests through a food & wine pairing journey.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary ($50,000.00 - $60,000.00)
