About Us: Balos Estiatorio is a premier Greek restaurant known for its authentic cuisine, exceptional service, and luxurious dining experience. We pride ourselves on creating a warm, inviting atmosphere where guests can enjoy the finest Greek dishes crafted with the freshest ingredients. We have recently been added to the Michelin Guide and have been highly rated among very well respected food critics and news outlets.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and charismatic Host to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, a deep understanding of seating, flow of reservations, and is highly skilled at guest communication. The host will be responsible for ensuring an exceptional dining experience for all guests, a consistent flow when seating, working well under pressure, and maintaining the highest standards of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests with warmth and professionalism
  • Manage reservations and seating arrangements to optimize the dining experience and alternate sections of servers properly
  • Review reservation notes and requests and communicate these with management to ensure success
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality service throughout the dining room
  • Address guest concerns and complaints with grace and efficiency
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the menu, wine list, and daily specials
  • Train and mentor host staff to uphold the restaurant’s standards
  • Manage daily operations, including host opening and closing procedures

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a lead host or in a similar role in an equal caliber restaurant
  • Understanding of Greek cuisine
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with poise and professionalism
  • Knowledge of reservation systems (OPEN TABLE)
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • A warm, approachable demeanor and a genuine passion for hospitality
