We’re looking for line cooks to join the team at Theodora!


Chef/owner Tomer Blechman of the popular Mediterranean restaurant Miss Ada in Fort Greene and its sister concept Nili in Carroll Gardens opens his newest concept, Theodora with co-owner Gerardo Estevez. Theodora is a progression of Miss Ada, taking the community Tomer built. At the heart of Theodora is an inviting open kitchen focusing on fresh and dry-aged seafood and open-fire cooking. 


This is a great opportunity to be a part of a growing team. The open kitchen includes a Josper charcoal oven, and Josper wood fired grill. This role is a great fit for a young and excited chef looking to learn and grow as part of a team. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with production, prep and station set up
  • Working the hot line or garde manger station during service
  • Assisting with breakdown, clean up and inventory
  • Following all DOH food safety protocols and ensuring a clean and safe work environment

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a comparable kitchen
  • Knife skills
  • Knowledge of fish butchery is a plus
  • Experience with open fire cooking is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Be able to stand for extended periods of time [over 7 hours]
  • Be able to lift and carry 50 pounds steadily 
  • Be comfortable bending, sitting, walking extended distances including up and down flights of stairs, and moving. 
  • Be comfortable walking up and down stairs frequently, including while carrying large containers

Compensation Details

Compensation: Weekly ($900.00 - $1,100.00)
