At Ama, the AM Server role is more than job role — it’s the pulse of our caffè. Various positions for the role including caffè/counter service, barista & table service. This position blends the precision and artistry of a barista with the grace, warmth, and acumen of a seasoned server (who enjoys working in the morning & daytime). Our AM team members are important guides between our guests and our mission of intentional nourishment, regenerative dining, and sustainable hospitality.

Greet guests warmly and set the tone for a relaxed, intentional dining experience.

Tailor recommendations to enhance guest satisfaction and increase check averages.

Barista & Beverage Mastery

Prepare all espresso and coffee beverages to Ama standards — balancing speed, precision, and artistry.

Maintain expert knowledge of coffee origins, flavor profiles, and brewing techniques.

Anticipate peak periods and prepare mise en place to handle volume without compromising quality.

Caffè & Counter Service

Manage counter orders with the same care and depth of knowledge as table service.

Execute smooth transitions between counter and floor service during high-traffic moments.

Maintain an organized, guest-friendly caffè display and retail space.

Financial Awareness & Sales Performance

Understand daily and weekly sales goals and actively work toward achieving them.

Upsell thoughtfully, pairing beverages, dishes, and retail items to maximize revenue.

Contribute to waste reduction and efficiency by following purchasing, prep, and preservation standards.

Operational & Team Excellence

Arrive prepared, with all service and barista stations set and ready for the day’s first guest.

Communicate with kitchen and FOH teams to ensure accuracy and speed.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience: 1+ year in a full-service or fine-casual dining environment preferred; barista experience highly valued.
