Job Title: Restaurant Server

Job Summary: The Restaurant Server provides excellent customer service to guests by taking orders, serving food and drinks, and ensuring that guests have a positive dining experience. This role requires attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Greet and Seat Customers:

   • Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
   • Escort guests to their tables and present the menu.
   • Provide guests with information about daily specials or promotions.

2. Take Orders:

   • Take food and drink orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen or bar staff.
   • Make recommendations and answer questions about the menu.
   • Ensure that special dietary needs or preferences are noted and communicated to the kitchen.

3. Serve Food and Beverages:

   • Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely and organized manner.
   • Check in with guests to ensure they are satisfied with their meals.
   • Refill drinks and clear plates as needed.

4. Maintain Cleanliness:

   • Clean and set up tables before and after each guest.
   • Ensure the dining area is tidy and organized.
   • Handle food and drink spills promptly.

5. Handle Payments:

   • Provide guests with the bill, process payments, and return change or receipts.
   • Operate the POS (point-of-sale) system efficiently.

6. Work as a Team:

   • Collaborate with other servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
   • Assist with training new servers and providing support to the team.

7. Provide Exceptional Customer Service:

   • Respond to guest inquiries or complaints and resolve them promptly.
   • Ensure guests feel valued and cared for throughout their dining experience.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a server in a restaurant or hospitality environment (preferred but not required).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills to handle payments and provide accurate change.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to bend, reach, and carry trays of food or drinks.
