This post is for an exciting new Japanese restaurant opening at The Hotel Chelsea at the end of April.
Teruko at The Hotel Chelsea is now hiring Servers. We are looking for experienced hospitality professionals to join our team and take part in this highly anticipated opening. We are currently focused on candidates with full-time availability and at least two years of fine dining experience, specifically in Japanese cuisine, or with an interested in learning Japanese cuisine. Japanese language skills are a plus!
Full-time training is scheduled to start mid-April. Opening is scheduled for 4/29.
Once open, you must be available 4 nights between the days of Tuesday and Saturday (the restaurant will be closed on Sundays and Mondays).

About This Role:
Servers are responsible for the guest experience at the table, including food and beverage knowledge, and thoughtful, professional interactions.
Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing quality food and beverage service to guests according to specifications, courteously and efficiently
- Knowledge of Japanese food and ingredients required
- Basic knowledge of Japanese beverages, including craft sake and shochu
- Basic knowledge of standard cocktails and liquor
- An ability to move efficiently and multi-task
- Thorough communication with the kitchen
What You Bring:
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience as a server in a high-volume Japanese restaurant
- A positive attitude and passion for providing exceptional hospitality service
- TIPS certification preferred
- Flexible work schedules: the ability to work night, weekends and holidays
- The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects, up to 50lbs
- Kneel, bend, or stoop, ascend or descend stairs; be on feet for extended periods of time
