Primary Job Responsibilities:
The Floor Manager role is a key supervisor of our Union Square Beer Garden and a crucial element to the overall management team. You will work closely with the hospitality management team to learn, shape, grow, and maintain the hospitality program. This will include the F&B quality, service standards, training, financials, staffing, and other details outlined below. It will also involve managing the floor and event spaces from day-to-day in coordination with the remaining management team.
Responsibilities: (include, but are not limited to)
- Cultivate a culture of authentic hospitality that supports our business objectives and growth.
- Learn and be able to execute general daily operations.
- Train on all general event execution and service standards across locations.
- Learn the details of our brewing process, brand evolution/identity, retail/wholesale department.
- Participate in pre-shifts and continuing education for all staff. Provide training resources for events and general training.
- Assist in keeping all facilities clean & organized.
- Work the service floor daily in the restaurant & bar, while leading staff performance and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Maintain excellence and cleanliness of all restaurant spaces.
- Foster positive working relationships with managers and hourly staff throughout service periods, ensuring effective and timely communication.
- Work with beverage management to conduct, reconcile and submit month end beverage inventory (not required for all managers.)
- Remain current and compliant with the correct HR practices and policies, holding employees accountable to all standards and practices, evaluating and/or following disciplinary procedure when necessary.
- Validate that the payroll process is completed accurately, on time and according to business/accounting procedures (not required for all managers.)
- Ensure that the schedule is posted in a timely manner and in accordance with staffing needs and labor targets (not required for all managers.)
- Remain current and compliant with the correct HR practices and policies.
- Hold employees accountable to all standards and practices, evaluating and/or following disciplinary procedure when necessary.
- Ensure Health Department compliance for all restaurant spaces.
- Provide feedback and guidance with excellence and hospitality in mind, ensuring that all team members have a pathway for growth and development.
- Work both opening and closing shifts as needed.
- Consistently look for internal and external candidates to build our growing team.
Qualifications
You have:
- An innate love of hospitality
- 2-3+ years of management experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment in restaurants, hotels, bars, or breweries.
- Experience with & understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
- Knowledge of & experience with POS and ERP Systems such as R365 or Craftable is a plus
- Knowledge of hospitality systems and processes and an ability to find the simplest solution to complex problems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail
- A passion for craft beer (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree or similar experience
