Position Overview:
As a Pastry Cook at our prestigious club, you will be responsible for preparing and executing a wide range of luxurious and innovative pastries, breads, and desserts. Working alongside our Pastry Chef and culinary team, you will ensure the consistency, quality, and presentation of each item, all while upholding our commitment to excellence and seasonal, high-quality ingredients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute a variety of pastries, desserts, and breads, ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation, and taste.
- This position is service oriented. Please have experience working dinner service specifically.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation, adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Follow detailed recipes and techniques, while contributing creative ideas and problem-solving in the pastry department.
- Ensure all pastries are prepared and plated to perfection, reflecting the upscale ambiance of the restaurant and club.
- Manage inventory and assist with ordering ingredients, ensuring the availability of fresh, high-quality ingredients at all times.
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth and timely service, especially during peak hours.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of current dessert trends and techniques, seeking out opportunities to elevate the pastry program.
- Support the team during special events, private dining experiences, and seasonal menu changes.
- Assist with maintaining equipment and tools, reporting any repairs or maintenance needs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant or club.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, dessert trends, and ingredient sourcing.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Exceptional creativity and passion for pastry artistry.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Team player with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of proper kitchen safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Culinary degree or equivalent formal training in pastry arts preferred but not required.
