929 is a Cocktail + Vinyl Record Bar inspired by Canto-Pop & Mando-Pop, located in Midtown, NY.
From craft cocktails and small bites to music and art display, 929’s goal is to create an immersive space for the celebration of Cantonese and Mandarin pop music from the 1980s and beyond. Sipping a cocktail inspired by Chinese ingredients while jamming to music playing on vinyl and browsing the music memorabilia collection in the space is exactly what we would love to see our guests doing. We believe in celebration, introduction, and most importantly, preservation of the pop culture we grew up with.
Responsibilities
- Provide the highest levels of organization and hospitality to guests at all times, without exception
- Welcoming and greeting guests at the entrance of the bar and escorting them to their assigned table
- Manage the reservation and waitlist system and communicate with bartenders and servers to ensure proper turnover of seats
- Maintain the integrity of service, proactively communicate with Managers to address any potential negative experiences
- Work collaboratively with bartenders and kitchen staff to ensure guests are receiving prompt and courteous service
- Check in with guests to ensure that they are having a great experience and take corrective action if any issues arise
- Engage with guests and colleagues in a professional and dignified manner
- Uphold 929's goal and mission statement, promote 929's culture, and always positively represent the brand
- Perform proper opening and closing procedures following the manager's direction
- Complete any other task assigned by the manager as required in a timely and professional manner
Skills
- Resume and proven working experience in a fine dining or cocktail bar
- High school or equivalent education required.
- Basic cocktail knowledge is preferred
- Computer literacy
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of Resy is a plus
- Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is a huge plus
- Knowledge of Asian ingredients is a plus
