Sushi Nakazawa is searching for a qualified candidate to join its management team as an Assistant General Manager.
Sushi Nakazawa is a partnership between Restauranteur Alessandro Borgognone and Executive Chef Daisuke Nakazawa. Upon opening in August 2013, the restaurant received immediate acclaim with a rare 4 star rating from the New York Times, and received its first Michelin star in the 2019 guide.
Sushi Nakazawa is located in the heart of the West Village, and serves a Chef Tasting Menu or “Omakase” exclusively. The Omakase features 21 different species of fish and shellfish, and is expertly tailored with different spices, sauces, and cooking preparations to highlight each piece of nigiri.
Qualified Candidates must have the following prerequisites to be considered for the position.
- 5 Years Minimum of Fine Dining Experience at well regarded establishments. Michelin Experience is an absolute must.
- 2 Years Minimum of Management Experience, with a strong preference on Service or Banquet Management. Michelin Experience is an absolute must.
- Strong knowledge of food - Sushi experience is not a must, but understanding premium ingredients, cooking techniques, tableside service, and a general knowledge of the food industry are imperative.
- Essential Knowledge of Wine.
- Strong People Skills
- Strong Understanding of Businesses, Brands, and Networking.
- Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Dropbox, Basic Website Coding, and Copier/Printer issues.
The Assistant General Manager will be working directly underneath the General Manager, and collaborate with other members of ownership and management, such as the Director of Operations, and the Beverage Director.
