Job Details
SMOQUE BBQ is currently looking to add an experienced Restaurant Manager to our team. This is a full-time management position at our 3800 N Pulaski Rd location in Chicago.

Smoque (smok) BBQ is a neighborhood kind of place that cooks up BBQ good enough to make it a true destination. We've operated in the Old Irving Park neighborhood for over 17 years. For more information on Smoque BBQ, please visit our website at www.smoquebbq.com.

Summary of Position

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for daily operations of the restaurant. These duties include, but are not limited to;
  1. Hiring and comprehensive customer service and kitchen training of restaurant staff.
  2. Walking the dining room to check on customer experiences and address any concerns.
  3. Create work schedules for restaurant staff.
  4. Tracking labor hours and adjusting schedules to meet labor targets.
  5. Maintain safety and food quality standards.
  6. Daily cash management.
  7. Staff performance reviews and improvement plans.
  8. Tracking and identifying ways to limit waste and control operational costs.
  9. Monitoring daily opening and closing checklists to ensure they have been completed.
  10. Ensure coolers and dry storage areas are clean and organized.
  11. Other tasks as assigned by the owner/general manager.
Requirements 
  1. 3+ years of restaurant management experience in a high volume fast-casual environment.
  2. Current Chicago food handler ServSafe Manager certificate.
  3. Significant experience using a computer and navigating Windows, Dropbox, MS Office with focus on Excel, Outlook and Access.
  4. Open availability to work any shifts during the week. Friday, Saturday and Sunday availability are mandatory as its our busiest times of the week.
  5. Valid IL driver's license and a clean driving record.
Qualifications
  1. Be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
    1. Fluency in English is required.
    2. Multi-lingual in Spanish is a bonus
  2. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  3. Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  4. Excellent customer service.
  5. High energy level with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  6. Competency in creating documentation and executing complex projects.
  7. Proven history of building and maintaining high-performing and motivated teams.
  8. Passion for BBQ and learning new things.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($60,000.00 - $70,000.00)
