Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Café Manager to join our Café at James Perse Robertson House. In this role, you will oversee daily barista operations, ensuring high-quality coffee service, training, and motivating barista staff. You will ensure the team adheres to brand standards of customer service, product quality, and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide the barista team, ensuring efficient and high-quality coffee preparation and customer service.
- Train new baristas on coffee preparation, company standards, and customer service best practices.
- Monitor staff performance, providing feedback and coaching to improve skills and productivity.
- Ensure baristas maintain cleanliness, organization, and health and safety standards in their work areas.
- Handle customer concerns or complaints, ensuring a positive experience for all customers.
- Assist with inventory control, including managing coffee and beverage supplies and placing orders as needed.
- Ensure the smooth operation of espresso machines and other coffee equipment, troubleshooting as necessary.
- Collaborate with management to implement new initiatives and improve service standards.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented environment and motivate staff to perform at their best.
Qualifications:
- Previous barista experience, with a strong understanding of coffee preparation and equipment.
- Leadership or supervisory experience in a food service or coffee shop environment preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to handle customer complaints with professionalism.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
