Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This role involves preparing ingredients, cooking meals, and ensuring that all dishes are served in a timely manner while adhering to our restaurant's standards.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and specifications.
  • Assist in meal preparation for catering events and special functions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Ensure all food safety protocols are followed, including proper food handling and storage practices.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus and prepare seasonal offerings.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety standards.


Skills

  • Experience in the food industry, particularly in roles such as dietary aide or within a dietary department.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
  • Proficient in meal preparation techniques with an understanding of various cooking methods.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with menu planning and catering services is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
