The Hotel Chelsea is now hiring a Maitre D' for a new Japanese concept opening in the spring. We are looking for experienced hospitality professionals to join our team. We are currently focused on candidates with full-time availability and at least three years of NYC Maitre D' experience.

About This Role:
The Maitre D’ is responsible for providing warm hospitality to guests, managing reservations and walk-in diners and helping to facilitate the flow of service throughout the night.The Maitre D’ will work to provide impeccable hospitality to each of our clients, working specifically with each individual need to curate the best experience possible.
Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring the reservation flows for each evening before service
- Preparing for reception and seating arrangements of VIPs, regulars and special occasions
- Having a good grasp of celebrity and VIP identities
- Greeting guests in a professional and appropriately familiar manner
- Taking walk-in reservations, figuring out the best way to seat guests
- Maintaining a waitlist when necessary
- Having thick skin for potentially troublesome guests
What You Bring:
- Minimum of 3+ years’ Maitre D’ experience in a high-volume restaurant
- A positive attitude and passion for providing exceptional hospitality service
- A strong working knowledge of various reservations software
- Flexible work schedules: the ability to work night, weekends, holidays, as business permits
- The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects, up to 30lbs
- Kneel, bend, or stoop, ascend or descend stairs; be on feet for extended periods of time
