With deep roots in Las Vegas, we are expanding to New York, bringing our legendary steakhouse experience to the historic One Fifth location. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and hospitality-driven General Manager to lead our New York team and uphold the brand’s legacy while adapting to the city’s vibrant dining scene.
Job Summary
The General Manager will oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring that the Golden Steer experience in New York maintains the same standards of hospitality, quality, and tradition as our flagship location. This role requires a hands-on leader who excels in fine dining operations, team development, financial management, and guest experience enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring seamless service and an exceptional guest experience.
- Maintain a deep understanding of fine dining service standards, ensuring consistency in every aspect of the guest journey.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef and Beverage Director to maintain the highest quality food and beverage programs.
- Uphold health, safety, and sanitation regulations in compliance with NYC Department of Health and industry best practices.
Team Development & Leadership:
- Hire, train, and mentor a high-performing front-of-house team, fostering a culture of professionalism and hospitality.
- Lead pre-shift meetings and ongoing staff training to ensure knowledge of menu offerings, service expectations, and brand history.
- Set performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and cultivate leadership within the team.
Guest Experience & Brand Representation:
- Maintain Golden Steer’s reputation for excellence by ensuring every guest receives VIP treatment.
- Engage with guests, resolve concerns promptly, and anticipate needs to enhance overall satisfaction.
- Act as a brand ambassador, representing Golden Steer at industry events and networking opportunities.
Financial & Business Management:
- Drive profitability through strategic cost control, labor management, and revenue optimization.
- Analyze financial reports, P&Ls, and sales data to identify opportunities for efficiency and growth.
- Collaborate with ownership on marketing initiatives, events, and local partnerships to drive guest traffic.
Community & Industry Engagement:
- Build relationships within NYC’s hospitality community to attract top talent and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Partner with local purveyors and suppliers to ensure the highest quality ingredients and service standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of fine dining General Manager experience, preferably in a high-volume, well-established steakhouse or luxury hospitality environment.
- Proven leadership in opening and/or managing a new restaurant location is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of NYC hospitality regulations, labor laws, and fine dining service standards.
- Exceptional financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, P&Ls, and cost controls.
- Expertise in wine and spirits is a plus, along with a passion for food and beverage pairings.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
