Host/Hostess
To provide a friendly and welcoming impression to all guests. To be professional, courteous and teamwork oriented. The Host(ess) will be performing the following duties, other duties may be assigned:
- Interact with guests in a friendly courteous manner, assists managers in dealing with customer complaints
- Ensures guests experience is favorable by displaying an attentive and positive attitude
- Ensures a warm and inviting environment including lighting, music and temperature of the dining room
- Greets and seats all new guests, be professional and courteous at all times
- may require outdoor shifts during spring and summer
- Accommodate all guests equally, ensuring as much as possible full seating capacity
- Ensure outstanding communication with front of house and back of house staff (i.e. large parties, wait time, special requests)
- Maintains a list of parties waiting to be seated, when necessary, with brief descriptions
- Ensures proper seating and rotation among servers, answers the phone, input all reservations in a timely manner
- Controls the flow of the dining room
- Checks and responds to all voicemails or informs proper manager of message
- Answers the phone and takes care of all reservations by using our reservation system (OpenTable)
- Provides information to the guests both on the phone and face to face
- Maintains cleanliness of entryway
- Maintains menus maintenance (cleanliness and quantity)
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree
- Organized communication skills and enthusiasm.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- At least one year of experience in fine dining
- Must be able to work weekends, evenings and special events as needed.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented and able to multitask.
- Must be able to lift to 25lbs and frequently bend and twist from the waist.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently is required to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Allergens & Food Handler Certificates
Starting Pay: $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20 +/- hours per week
