The original Cafe Lift opened 20 years ago. It was husband and wife, Michael and Jeniphur Pasquarello’s vision to create a restaurant that would not only be progressive in its location, but in the food that they would be serving. As a cafe they strived to push the boundaries of what a bruncherie could be, and placed a strong emphasis on supporting the region's farmers and purveyors. After serving tens of thousands of brunches at our Philadelphia location, Cafe Lift opened its second location on Kings Highway in Downtown Haddonfield. Open 8am-3pm daily, Cafe Lift offers an amazing elevated brunch menu, and a long-standing army of regular guests. This is an excellent position for a Sous Chef, and a rare opportunity for a Chef to maintain day-time hours.
We are searching for individuals who are passionate about cooking, pushing the boundaries, and most importantly, wanting to grow within our company and become a member of our community. We are looking for a Sous Chef to help maintain uniformity and sustainability in our kitchen. Candidates must have two to three of management experience, two years experience within high volume restaurants with equally high standards, and exemplary ordering and inventory skills. Although there will be administrative tasks involved with this position, leading by example on the line is the only way to exemplify Michael and Jeniphur’s vision.
Desired Requirements:
-A minimum of 2 years of progressive culinary management experience in well-rated restaurants.
-The ability and desire to work with locally-sourced, seasonal foods, and designing menus based on them.
-Prior experience and success in running expo in a busy kitchen.
-Experience with hiring, training and mentoring hourly BOH staff.
-Access to transportation in order to work at our location in Haddonfield.
-Strong financial acumen with the proven ability to oversee cost control, labor management and bottom-line profitability.
-Ability to drive performance and results of a diverse culinary workforce.
-Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

In 2003, Michael and Jeniphur Pasquarello opened Cafe Lift, housed in a historic refurbished factory in Philadelphia's Callowhill neighborhood. After serving tens of thousands of brunches across two decades, Cafe Lift expanded to its second location right on Kings Highway in downtown Haddonfield, NJ.
They are still serving brunch to the crowds, seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m, now on both sides of the Delaware River. The menu evolves seasonally and all ingredients are sourced from responsible growers, and hyper-locally whenever possible. Café Lift proudly serves quality coffee drinks, expertly prepared with roasted beans created by the owner and a local roaster. The open, post-industrial space also hosts private events during the evening when the chefs of 13th Street Kitchens, its parent restaurant group, collaborate on special menus spanning various cuisines.
