Salary Range: $20.00 - $24.00 (DOE and State)

POSITION SUMMARY: As a valued member of the Gjelina NYC team, the Host plays a key role in creating exceptional guest experiences through warm hospitality, effective communication, and teamwork. In this role, you will be responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and assisting with the flow of service. You will work closely with servers, managers, and the rest of the team to ensure a smooth, welcoming environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat guests, manage reservations, and ensure guest satisfaction
- Adhere to hygiene, health, and safety protocols
- Communicate clearly with staff and management to ensure smooth service
- Assist with daily side work and support in-house events
- Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in a high-volume, upscale environment (preferred)
- Passion for hospitality and customer service in a dynamic setting
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, with a focus on guest experience and seating management
- Enthusiasm for learning and sharing knowledge with guests and team members
- Ability to manage guest flow and create a welcoming atmosphere
- Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in varying conditions
Work Environment:
- Moderate to loud noise, wet or slippery conditions
