Corridor 109 / Bar 109 is hiring a Head Bartender to be part of our restaurant opening team!
Bar 109 will have a full-liquor, cocktail, wine, and sake program. The concept is separate from the restaurant. The position is an exciting role working directly with the Chef / Owner Brian Baik to oversee the program at Bar 109. The ideal candidate will have bar management experience and be especially versed in classic cocktails, with an interest in learning about wine and sake. We are seeking exceptional candidates for our small team with a roll up your sleeve and lead by example attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Work as Head Bartender under the direction of the Chef / Owner Brian Baik to manage daily operations of Bar 109
- Develop cocktail menu and oversee full-liquor cocktail program
- Recording of cocktail recipes and step by step instructions for restaurant and staff
- Ordering, beverage organization and inventory tracking
- Beverage costing
- Preparation of ingredients as required for cocktail program
- In addition to the cocktail program, knowing about and being able to explain the ever-changing selection of wine and sakes on the Bar 109 program list
- Oversee Bar 109 for service hours
- Daily setup, restaurant / bar opening and closing, clean up, and breakdown
- Ensure company protocols and policies are upheld, including all health compliance requirements and clean up procedures
- Work in tandem with restaurant FOH team
- General cleaning as may be required including dishwashing, glass washing, glass polishing, bathroom maintenance, etc.
- Other responsibilities as part of the day-to-day operations
Requirements:
- Team player, no ego, we are looking for exceptional candidates that are willing to roll up their sleeves and do any and every task to help operate the bar and lead a team by example. Must have strong principles and integrity
- Minimum 3 years of bar or cocktail experience. The right person and personality is more important to us than a pedigree of experience.
- Must be well versed in classic cocktails
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when called for
- Leadership skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills with focus on guest experience
- Must have full schedule availability for 40-50 hours per week
