Reporting directly to the Owner, the Assistant Manager leads the produce department, overseeing buying, stocking, pricing, etc. This role also supports overall store operations, supervises staff, and helps drive sales and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead produce department operations, ensuring freshness, quality, and proper merchandising. Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely deliveries and resolve issues.
• Develops and maintains creative store layout and product merchandising.
• Supervise and train employees, fostering a positive work environment. Manage scheduling and workflow for sales associates.
• Perform cashier duties and support front-of-house operations as needed to ensure excellent customer service, providing product knowledge and answering inquiries.
• Oversee store cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
• Assist with promotions, special events, and marketing, including EBT programs and DoorDash.
• Support eCommerce operations, including updating product details and processing online orders

Qualifications & Skills

• 2+ years of grocery, specialty grocery, or food service management experience required.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing produce, including buying, stocking, pricing, and merchandising.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to business growth.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability for flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and squat for extended periods.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
