Job Description:

We are looking for a hardworking and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring that stations are stocked and ready for service. This role is crucial in supporting the chefs and line cooks to keep the kitchen running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wash, peel, chop, dice, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards.
  • Properly label, date, and store food items to maintain freshness and prevent waste.
  • Assist with basic cooking tasks such as blanching, roasting, or marinating.
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies before service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, storage areas, and kitchen equipment.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring all prep areas meet health department standards.
  • Assist in receiving and properly storing deliveries, including checking for quality and freshness.
  • Support line cooks and chefs by keeping ingredients prepped and ready during service.
  • Follow instructions from the Executive Chef and Sous Chef while maintaining consistency in prep work.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous kitchen experience as a prep cook, dishwasher, or similar role preferred but not required.
  • Basic knife skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from kitchen leadership.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Culinary school training is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-temperature environment.
