Since opening our doors in 2022, Sugar Wood has become a full blown phenomenon, with people from all over the world visiting our shop to get their mouth on one of our famous Woody or Kitty Waffles, dripping with decadent sauce… and innuendo.
We are looking for an experienced customer service rep / sales associate. You must love desserts, making people laugh and being a part of a community. We are also looking for candidates who are aligned with our sex-positive and inclusive values! Sugar Wood is LGBT-owned, and is a safe and welcoming space for all, customers and employees alike.
Requirements:
- Follow customer service & operational guidelines and MAKE OUR CUSTOMERS LAUGH!
- Prepare desserts according to company standards, ensuring products are consistent for every customer.
- Be personable, loud, fun, comfortable telling jokes and making people laugh. Acting or comedy experience a huge plus!
- Must be comfortable with Sugar Wood's concept, products and mission.
- Dependable, flexible, respectful and professional. We are a small team and every staff member is important.
- Some weekend availability required
- Be authorized to work in the US for any employer
Candidates must have at least two years revious retail or hospitality experience or a college degree.
Acting experience and language skills a plus. Prior restaurant or café experience are a huge plus.
Must have valid New York City DOH Food Handlers License or pass test within 45 days of hire.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($17.00 - $18.00) plus tips
