Chef Leah Cohen’s Piggyback, located on West 30th street, serves fun and flavorful Asian cuisine in a lively Manhattan setting. We are seeking excellent candidates to join our expanding team. If you are a hard working, punctual, team player with a good attitude and strong leadership skills, please apply!!! Southeast Asian cooking experience is a plus but not required, but a desire to learn IS required.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Managing a staff of 10 to 15 cooks
- Hiring and training BOH staff
- Ordering and maintaining food costs
- Complete inventory in full
- Creating prep lists for the prep cooks and line cooks
- Expediting/running the board for both dinner and brunch services
- Preparing and maintaining work station on the line 2 shifts per week
- Maintaining professional standards
- Working clean, efficiently, and with respect for ingredients
- Ensure that all dishes are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant's recipes, portioning, cooking and service standards
- Keep equipment clean and in excellent working condition
- Manage and call for repairs of equipment as needed
- Maintain a positive, work environment via effective, professional communication with other employees and managers
- Maintains a friendly, courteous and upbeat demeanor at all times
Requirements:
- Experience working in a professional kitchen as a Junior Sous Chef or Tournant level for the minimum of 1 year
- STRONG LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Friendly, outgoing, energetic team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
- Ability to take and give direction
- Vast knowledge of culinary techniques, procedures and equipment
- Ability to think quickly and multi-task in a fast paced environment
- General computer knowledge including Microsoft Word and Excel

Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary ($65,000.00 - $72,000.00)
