About the Position

Award-winning, high-volume bar and restaurant Jack Rose Dining Saloon is seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to join our dynamic team.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a thriving spirits-focused, hospitality business and make a meaningful impact on our operations, staff, and guest experience.

The General Manager works closely with the owners and operating partners to ensure the continued success of the concept while driving growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

The General Manager’s primary responsibilities include:

  • Leadership & Team Management

    • Oversight of all service managers and service staff, ensuring alignment with company goals and standards.

    • Manage recruiting, hiring, and training efforts to build a high-performing, cohesive team.

    • Part-time floor management to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

  • Financial Management

    • Monitoring and analyzing financial performance, including budgets, revenue, and costs.

    • Implementing strategies to optimize profitability and operational efficiency.

    • Utilizing financial management tools and software to track performance and plan effectively.

  • Operational Excellence

    • Ensuring compliance with all applicable local regulations and best practices, including DOES, OSHA, DC Health, and ABRA standards.

    • Overseeing maintenance of a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.

    • Coordinating with vendors and suppliers to maintain quality standards and inventory.

  • Administrative Duties

    • Managing schedules, payroll, and operational reporting.

    • Contributing to marketing and promotional strategies, including design and execution of campaigns.

    • Collaborating with owners and partners on long-term strategic planning.

Desired Qualifications

Our ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has a strong financial acumen. Technical skills and qualifications include:

  • Proficiency with POS systems and a range of management tools.

  • Comfort with communication, design, team, and financial management software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Slack, MarginEdge, and Google Suite.

  • A wine or spirits certification is a major plus, demonstrating expertise and passion for our industry.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($88,500.00 - $100,000.00)
