We are looking for an experienced Host to join our New York team.
POSITION SUMMARY
The host/hostess is responsible for a warm friendly, immediate greet to guests at the door. Seats, and presents clean menus to guests in a friendly, professional and quick manner.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY
- Welcoming and greeting guests; ensuring a seamless flow through the restaurant and to arranged dining tables
- Make guests feel comfortable while waiting at the front
- Interacts with guests as they leave the restaurant ensuring a positive dining experience
- Checking-in, storing, securing, and retrieving outerwear and assorted personal belongings for guests
- Taking part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties, including printing of menus as well as updating and printing shift summary notes
- Speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and responding well to questions
- Exhibiting a familiarity with menus
- When needed, answers phone calls and gives basic information on reservations, availability, restaurant hours and services
- Upholds service standards to ensure a memorable guest experience
- Maintain and uphold our company's vision and values
- Maintaining a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 1 year in a Host position in a upscale dining setting
- Knowledge of POS and reservation systems
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and customer services skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Has a sincere interest in the hospitality industry
- Demonstrates a passion for details and a willingness to learn
- Able to work in a team environment and welcome feedback and direction
- Flexible schedule and open availability to meet business needs - SUNDAY required
