Lazy Sister is a modern Pan-Chinese restaurant that recently opened in the warm and energetic community of South Norwalk. We are located on the bustling and historic Washington Street near tons of neighboring restaurants and vibrant nightlife based venues. We are looking to hire a server for our team.

Lazy Sister is an upscale casual modern Chinese restaurant that is refined, fresh and approachable for all diners. The environment is incredibly welcoming and we promise to deliver a best in class dining atmosphere that the amazing people of Connecticut and beyond will travel near and far for. Whether it’s a family tradition take out night, a casual bite to eat for lunch, or an elegant and energy filled dinner out on the town. Lazy sister delivers a dining experience for everyone!

We are seeking a hospitality enthusiast that has their own curiosity for Chinese cuisine, true passion and willingness to take care of others, and someone who exudes positivity, and warmth around other people. The environment and way we go about our service is casual yet incredibly friendly and always professional. We are looking for people with several years of experience or who have the drive to learn about our culture, our hospitality and service standards, and would love the opportunity to grow with Lazy Sister.

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW

Be an ambassador of team culture and facilitator of a remarkable guest experience. Be a contributing member of the front of house team with the key focus of delivering exceptionally warm hospitality, being a supportive team member to the operation of Lazy Sister.

As a bartender at Lazy Sister, you play a vital role in creating an exceptional guest experience by crafting drinks to perfection and serving responsibly. Following comprehensive training, you’ll gain extensive knowledge of our food, beverage, and bar programs, enabling you to make informed recommendations to enhance each guest’s visit.

You’ll also serve as a key resource for support team members, Dragonflies, and servers by providing expertise on our beverage offerings.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Warmly greet guests upon arrival and promptly respond to their needs throughout their visit.
  • Verify guest identification to ensure compliance with alcohol service regulations.
  • Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and dining room guests with precision and efficiency.
  • Restock bar supplies to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the bar area and equipment.
  • Process guest payments using acceptable forms of payment.
  • Take food and To-Go orders as needed.
  • Assess guest preferences and make tailored beverage recommendations.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work effectively under pressure alongside team members.
  • Complete assigned side work at the start, during, and end of each shift.
  • Collaborate with team members to support the overall success of the restaurant.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.

COMPENSATION

  • Bartender Hourly ($8.23 per hour) Plus tips.
  • Hourly ($15.69 per hour) for any non tipped work, or If the tips plus the minimum tip wage do not reach this threshold.
  • Paychecks to be distributed weekly, weekly checks are disbursed every friday

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants must be legal to work in the US
  • At least 2 years of Bartending experience 
  • Flexible schedule, available to work lunch and dinner shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work positively in a team environment
  • Strong hospitality and people skills
  • Ability to work under high pressure
  • Must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Preparing and serving beverages in accordance with standard recipes



Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($15.69) plus tips
