Description: Large-scale Latin Fusion Restaurant Located in Williamsburg


Salary: Full-time 30-35 hours, at $18-$22/hour (DOE) 

Tips: Competitive points on pool for all Host hours

Commissions: 2% commissions of all events booked by the individual

As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a talented, experienced & guest-focused Maitre D' to join our team and ensure every guest feels welcome and cared for.

Position Overview:

As the Maitre D’, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. You’ll lead by example, providing a warm, professional, and efficient service while managing the flow of the dining room. Your ability to multitask, manage reservations, and coordinate with both the front and back of house teams will be crucial in maintaining the high standard of service we are known for.

Responsibilities:
  • Guest Greeting and Seating:
    • Welcome and engage guests as they arrive with a friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor.
    • Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using our reservation system.
    • Ensure guests are seated promptly and according to preference, providing an exceptional first impression.
  • Guest Relations:
    • Build rapport with regular guests and ensure that each guest feels valued and attended to during their visit.
    • Address and resolve guest concerns or complaints with empathy and professionalism.
    • Coordinate with service staff to ensure guests’ needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Reservations and Floor Management:
    • Manage all floor reservations/intake platforms (Toast, Square, OpenTable, resy, trip advisor, pulsd, inkind, etc)
    • Events, community outreach/relations and front of house staff management, and managing customer loyalty rewards programs.
    • Oversee reservations, ensuring that the dining room is properly filled according to capacity and that special requests (e.g., dietary restrictions, special occasions) are noted and fulfilled.
    • Monitor the flow of the dining room, adjusting seating arrangements as necessary to ensure optimal service efficiency.
  • Team Coordination:
    • Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service during busy shifts.
    • Provide guidance and support to front-of-house staff, maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Ambience & Presentation:
    • Ensure that the restaurant is clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing at all times.
    • Oversee the atmosphere, ensuring music, lighting, and decor align with the ambiance of the restaurant.
  • Upselling & Guest Engagement:
    • Promote the restaurant's signature dishes, seasonal specials, and beverage offerings to enhance the guest experience and contribute to sales.
    • Provide information about the Latin Fusion cuisine, encouraging guests to explore the full menu.
  • Operational Support:
    • Assist in managing the flow of service during peak hours to minimize wait times and optimize seating.
    • Help with administrative tasks such as maintaining reservation logs, managing guest waitlists, and handling guest feedback.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1-2 years with proven experience as a Maitre D', Host, or in a similar customer-facing role within a fine-dining or high-volume restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of fine dining etiquette and service standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage guests and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
  • Passion for Latin American culture, cuisine, and hospitality is a plus.
