Bartender

TAKODA Navy Yard is hiring bartenders and servers. TAKODA brings a vibrant and easygoing drinking, dining, and entertainment experience to the Navy Yard neighborhood. Responsibilities

• Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
• Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
• Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
• Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations
• Must have weekend availability (including Sunday)

Skills

• Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
• Computer literacy
• Knowledge of a second language is a plus
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
• Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
• Those with an active ABRA License strongly encourage to apply
• ABRA License preferred - or the ability to obtain your ABRA License given priority over others

Compensation: We pay our tipped hourly employees $10/hr plus tips in accordance with DC law. With tips our employees average in the $25-$35/hr range. With the right staff we only see this increasing!
