Chef Anthony Chittum and Neighborhood Restaurant Group are seeking a Sous Chef for Iron Gate Restaurant located in DuPont Circle http://irongaterestaurantdc.com/ . Iron Gate serves Greek and Southern Italian food inspired by Mid-Atlantic ingredients. Iron Gate is a scratch kitchen using only the best seasonal ingredients. Since opening in 2013, Iron Gate has continually received awards and accolades from such outlets as The Washington Post, The Washingtonian, Michelin Guide, The James Beard Foundation and Wine Spectator to name a few.
Qualified candidates must have a passion for cooking great food, possess strong leadership abilities, and have a desire to learn, grow, and be an integral part of a dynamic team. Knowledge and experience with Mid-Atlantic, Greek, and Italian cuisine and preparation techniques are preferred, in addition to bread and pastry production. Candidates must be able to multitask, assisting with managing multiple farm and vendor orders daily. Most importantly, successful candidates will have a strong work ethic, thrive in a team environment, possess organizational skills, be punctual, professional, and have the ability to manage a small kitchen staff leading by example.

We also believe strongly in balancing our passion for hospitality with our personal time away from the restaurant. Our salary employees work an average of 50-55 hours a week.
