We are located at 920 Blagden Alley NW in Blagden Alley.
Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and reliable.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing ingredients for the day, including washing, chopping, and marinating.
- Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
- Following recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
- Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
- Ensuring food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.
- Complying with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.
- Assisting with inventory management and receiving supplies.
- Working with team members to ensure a smooth service.
- Handling, storing, and rotating all products properly.
- Responding to customer preferences and dietary needs.
- Participating in staff meetings and training as required.
- Assisting in the development of menu items.
- Continuously learning about new cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a restaurant cook or prep cook.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Familiarity with industry best practices.
- Culinary school diploma preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Precision and speed in executing assigned tasks.
- Familiarity with sanitation regulations.
- Good knife skills and the ability to perform food preparation tasks efficiently.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and evenings.
- Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift.
- Capacity to work under pressure during peak hours.
- Creativity for contributing to menu development.
- Attention to detail for ensuring the quality and standards of dishes.
