Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Sommelier who can also act as a Shift Lead to join our team. This dual role requires a deep knowledge of wine, a commitment to exceptional guest experiences, and strong leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will take ownership of our wine program while ensuring smooth operations during shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Sommelier Duties:- Wine Program Management: Curate and maintain an exceptional wine list, focusing on quality, variety, and alignment with the menu.
- Guest Experience: Provide expert wine recommendations, conduct tableside service, and enhance guests’ dining experiences.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, oversee ordering, and ensure proper storage of wines.
- Staff Training: Conduct regular wine education sessions for staff to improve their knowledge and selling capabilities.
- Event Coordination: Lead wine tastings, pairing events, and special programs to engage guests and increase sales.
- Leadership: Oversee daily operations during assigned shifts, ensuring high standards of service and efficiency.
- Team Support: Act as the point of contact for staff during shifts, resolving issues and providing guidance as needed.
- Service Excellence: Ensure smooth coordination between the front and back of the house, maintaining a seamless guest experience.
- Problem Solving: Handle guest complaints, operational challenges, or emergencies with professionalism and poise.
- End-of-Shift Duties: Oversee shift closing procedures, including reconciling sales, logging daily reports, and securing the premises.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years as a sommelier or in a leadership role in hospitality.
- Wine Knowledge: Advanced understanding of wine regions, varietals, and pairings. Certification (e.g., CMS, WSET) is highly desirable.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with guests and team members.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary/Hourly ($25.00 - $30.00)
