Job Details
North Fork Table & Inn is a well-loved spot on the East End, known for showcasing the best of Long Island’s farms, vineyards, and waters. The restaurant is located in a historic countryside home in Southold, Long Island. 2025 we will be opened through the the year. Opening day 2/13/2024. 

We’re seeking friendly and motivated Hosts and Lead Hosts to join our team. The Host is the first and last point of contact with the guest and is responsible for greeting, seating and saying goodbye to all guests as well as maintaining the flow of the restaurant during service. Must be naturally kind & gracious, able to work as a team, and have a deep love of hospitality. Applicants should have at least 1 year of experience in fine dining, fast paced restaurant environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming and seating guests accurately and professionally
  • Coordinating effective flow of guests and staff for a variety of events and high-volume services.
  • Provide engaged, friendly, and attentive customer service to all guests inclusive of eye contact, respectable conversation and smiling.
  • Ensure clear communication with guests always making genuine connections.
  • Communicating effectively with management and dining room teams on guest updates, special occasions, allergies, table status, VIPs, etc.
  • Estimating wait times for guests and maintaining the guest wait list.
  • Orchestrate strategic seating plans.
  • Understand tables configuration and optimization.
  • Managing coat check in a clean and organized fashion.
  • Identify guests in relations to their needs, regularity, and time of dining, food and drink choice, seat preference etc.
  • Identify all regulars and VIP guests.
  • Review all names in reservations and ensure special occasions (birthday, anniversary, etc.) are acknowledged and the allergies are flagged.
  • Complete tasks in other FOH roles when needed to contribute to a positive guest experience.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Host
  • Displays a pleasant and cheerful disposition.
  • Able to communicate professionally and effectively with both guests and staff.
  • Working knowledge of Resy or OpenTable.
  • Must have basic skills and be capable of operating department specific software and applications.
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
  • Must be able to stand and or walk for long periods of time without sitting

Compensation: Hourly ($18.00 - $22.00)
