Job Summary: The Host is the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their entire dining experience. As the face of Il Giglio, the Host will welcome guests with warmth and professionalism, ensure smooth seating arrangements, and maintain a welcoming environment throughout the dining experience. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication skills, a keen attention to detail, a professional appearance, and the ability to handle guest interactions with grace and efficiency. Candidates for this position must be exceptional hospitality professionals who have a welcoming, warm presence, a positive demeanor, and a passion for working with the public.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests upon arrival with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements, ensuring that guests are seated promptly and in accordance with reservation times.
• Coordinate with servers, managers, and the kitchen to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of guests.
• Maintain the waiting area, ensuring it is clean and comfortable for guests.
• Answer the phone, take reservations, and provide information about the restaurant’s menu, services, and amenities.
• Ensure that all guests are acknowledged and attended to in a timely manner.
• Manage coat check.
• Handle guest concerns and requests with courtesy and professionalism.
• Monitor dining room flow and assist with managing wait times during peak periods.
• Uphold the restaurant's standards for hospitality, cleanliness, and presentation.
• Assist with special events and private dining as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a host in an upscale or fine-dining restaurant.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with guests and staff in a positive and professional manner.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and composed during busy times.
• Must have knowledge of reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable, Resy).
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Comfortable with walking, bending, and assisting with various tasks in the dining area.
